86-year-old logger-turned-protester blocks old-growth logging

Bill Jones, an 86-year-old Pacheedaht elder and former logger, joined a blockade near Port Renfrew, British Columbia, to stop old-growth logging. About 20% of Vancouver Island's productive old-growth forests remain, most still open to logging. The province has deferred 2.4 million hectares since 2021.
