During Apollo 11's lunar descent, a stuck rendezvous radar triggered 1202 alarms by flooding the guidance computer. Margaret Hamilton's priority-scheduling software shed low-priority tasks in real time, letting the landing continue. The technique is now standard in real-time systems.
