VW Rolls Out Battery Preconditioning Update

Volkswagen distributes software version 3.9.1 as an over-the-air update for older ID. models including the ID.4, ID.5, and ID.3. The update adds battery preconditioning for DC fast charging and improves thermal management for vehicles built before October 2023. Installation requires at least software version 3.7 and a battery charge level of at least 50 per cent.
