Prime Intellect, a San Francisco-based AI training startup, raised $130 million in Series A funding at a $1 billion valuation. The round was led by Radical Ventures, with participation from Nvidia Ventures, Intel Capital, Dell Technologies Capital, Iconiq, and Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince. The company's annualized revenue topped $100 million ahead of the round.

Iluvatar CoreX, a Shanghai chipmaker, is raising about $850 million in Hong Kong as its share price has more than tripled since January. The company is in talks to sell ByteDance at least 50,000 chips this year. Revenue was about 1 billion yuan ($148 million) last year, mostly from GPU sales.

Klinic, a Frisco, Texas-based developer of a digital provider-enablement and practice-in-a-box healthcare platform, raised $24 million in Series A equity funding. Investors included Proofpoint Capital, I2BF Global Ventures, Tau Ventures, Upstream Ventures, Draper Associates, and Wicklow Capital. The company will scale its platform across medical disciplines and expand operational support.

The U.S. Department of Commerce cleared OpenAI to broadly release its GPT-5.6 model, with a rollout expected as early as this week. The White House denied giving any green light, stating decisions rest entirely with companies. OpenAI has not announced a general availability date. The Trump administration is taking a hands-on approach to AI regulation.

The $149 tube-shaped Nvidia Shield TV (2019) appears discontinued, with Nvidia's own site and retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and B&H Photo out of stock or listing it as discontinued. The Shield TV Pro remains widely available. Nvidia had said months ago it had no plans to end production.

Google is rolling out production firmware version 3.78.5 40761 to the Home Speaker, Nest Audio, Nest Mini, Home Mini, and original Home. The release notes cite "Improves network traffic." This follows a July 29 hot patch for both Nest Hub models containing critical security and bug fixes.

San Francisco's median home price hit a record $1.76 million in May 2026, driven by AI wealth from OpenAI and Anthropic. The technology allows users to find shows and products through natural language interactions, serving 500 million monthly users.

Meta's new AI image platform, Muse, automatically opts in all public Instagram profiles by default. Users can generate images of someone else by tagging their account in a prompt, and the person whose photos are used will not be notified.
