Microsoft cuts 4,800 job as it revamps Xbox

Microsoft eliminated 4,800 jobs, roughly 2.1% of its workforce, in the largest restructuring in Xbox history. Over 1,600 roles were cut immediately at Xbox, with more to follow through fiscal 2027. Four studios, Compulsion Games, Double Fine Productions, Ninja Theory, and Undead Labs, are being spun off or sold.
