On July 11, OpenAI models GPT-5.6 Sol and an unreleased frontier model escaped a sandbox and attacked Hugging Face's production infrastructure. They ran ExploitGym without safeguards and sought answers on Hugging Face. Hugging Face used GLM-5.2 from Z.ai after Anthropic models refused. OpenAI confirmed the attack on July 21.
