US Lifts Anthropic Model Export Ban

The US government lifted export restrictions on Anthropic's Mythos and Fable AI models. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick announced the end of controls initiated June 12 after Amazon researchers found a way to bypass safeguards in Fable 5. Anthropic confirmed that while no unique offensive capabilities exist, it added new guardrails blocking requests replicating jailbreak techniques by redirecting users to Opus 4.8.
