Bitcoin nears $72K, shorts wiped out

Bitcoin approached $72,000 as crypto short liquidations passed $3.1 billion over two days, with Thursday marking the largest single-day short wipeout ever recorded. Bitcoin accounted for just over half of the total at $1.65 billion, while short-term holders sent a record 43,300 BTC to exchanges in profit-taking.
