Coldcard Bug Drains $89M From 4,585 Wallets
A March 1, 2021 Coldcard firmware change routed seed generation through a weak software fallback, cutting entropy to roughly 40 bits on Mk3 devices. An attacker drained 1,367 BTC, about $89 million, from 4,585 wallets across three waves starting July 30.
