Google's killing off Tenor GIF searches in other apps

Google shut down the Tenor API on June 30, 2026, breaking GIF pickers in platforms including X, Discord, WhatsApp, and Bluesky. The Tenor website and Google-owned integrations like Gboard remain active. X migrated to another service, purging its recently used section and reducing GIF options.
