Xpeng Begins Robotaxi Employee Testing

Xpeng has started employee testing of its robotaxi, with CEO He Xiaopeng completing the first ride. The vehicle is built on the GX platform, engineered to L4 standards, and uses four in-house Turing AI chips delivering 3,000 TOPS. It forgoes LiDAR and HD maps, relying on a pure-vision VLA 2.0 model. Pilot operations are planned for Guangzhou later this year.
