Google Plans Frozen AI Chip with Gemini

Google is developing a chip codenamed "Frozen v2" that hardwires Gemini's neural-network architecture into silicon, separate from its TPUs. The chip could be 6 to 10 times more efficient than Google's latest custom AI chips. Deployment is targeted for as early as 2028. Alphabet shares rose as much as 3.7% on the news.
