Trump's push hits TSMC margins

Pressure from President Donald Trump to manufacture semiconductors in the U.S. is squeezing margins at TSMC. The chipmaker has announced $200 billion in U.S. commitments, including a $100 billion investment last week. CFO Wendell Huang said overseas fab expansion will dilute gross margins by 2% to 4% over several years. TSMC reported a 77.4% jump in second-quarter profit.
