PJM Proposes Cutting Data Center Power First

PJM Interconnection asked federal regulators to approve rules cutting power to new data centers before households during shortages. The proposal follows two failed capacity auctions and a projected 70 GW of new load by 2038. Existing facilities are unaffected, and PJM lacks authority to enforce curtailments without state cooperation.
