Engineers at the University of California, San Diego, developed a prototype smart ring that uses finger sweat to continuously monitor glucose, ketones, vitamin C, uric acid, lactate, and alcohol. Testing showed accuracy similar to invasive continuous glucose monitors and blood draws. The prototype has a 12-hour battery life.
