Publishers Sue Google Over Gemini Training

Hachette Book Group, Cengage Learning, Elsevier, and author Scott Turow sued Google, alleging it copied millions of copyrighted books from Google Play Books to train Gemini without permission. The lawsuit claims Google internally flagged potential fines of $10Bs to $100Bs and seeks damages, an injunction, and destruction of unauthorized copies.
