Amazon filed an FCC application to launch up to 5,105 satellites starting in 2028, aiming to provide direct-to-mobile voice, messaging, data, and emergency services. The network, run by subsidiary Amazon Leo, will compete with SpaceX and leverage spectrum from Globalstar, which Amazon acquired earlier.
