EU orders Google to open Android and search data

The European Commission ordered Google to share anonymized search data with rival search engines and AI chatbots starting January 2027, and to give competing AI assistants access to Android features. Google must implement search changes by year's end and Android changes by June. Kent Walker said the decisions risk privacy and security.
