Japan kind-of completes its sovereign satnav constellation
Japan launched Michibiki No. 7 (QZS-7) into orbit Tuesday aboard an H3 rocket, completing its seven-satellite Quasi-Zenith Satellite System. The H3's ninth flight succeeded after QZS-5 was lost in December 2025 due to a glue-related fault. Three more satellites are planned for the 2030s.
