US and Allies Warn of Russian Router Hacks

Cybersecurity agencies from the US and eight other countries warned that Russian FSB Center 16 hackers are targeting vulnerable routers using default SNMP passwords and Cisco Smart Install flaws to infiltrate critical infrastructure. Sectors at risk include energy, communications, healthcare, and defense. Mitigations include upgrading to SNMPv3 and disabling Cisco Smart Install.
