gm invests $900 million in lmr battery chemistry

gm opened a 500,000-square-foot Battery Cell Development Centre to advance its LMR battery chemistry, aiming to cut EV battery costs by $6,000 per vehicle. The LMR chemistry, lithium-manganese-rich, is nearly as energy-dense as NMC but cheaper than LFP.
