Bitcoin jumped nearly 6% to over $69,000 after the U.S. Treasury announced it would double debt buybacks to at least $4 billion per operation starting Sept. 9. The move triggered a short squeeze, with roughly $1.5 billion in positions covered, including $700 million in one minute.
