SpaceX stock fell 46% from its July 16 peak to $113 by July 24, slashing its market cap to $1.49 trillion. Tesla dropped 24% to $308, valuing it at $1.22 trillion. SpaceX would now need to issue 82% of its shares to buy Tesla, diluting existing investors by 45%.
