Lead services programmer Chris Hays said Microsoft's cuts make triple-A Doom-style games "impossible" with half the staff. The July layoffs removed 136 employees from id Software, part of Xbox's 3,200-job reset. Hays said the studio is "half the same id" and that Microsoft "fundamentally don't understand art.
