Linus Torvalds stated on the Linux Kernel Mailing List that developers who oppose AI use in the kernel can fork it. He called AI a clearly useful tool and said he will ignore those arguing against its use. Other top maintainers like Greg Kroah-Hartman, Theodore Ts'o, and James Bottomley supported the stance.
