Iran claims second strike on AWS Bahrain datacenter

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed it destroyed an AWS datacenter in Bahrain with cruise missiles, retaliating for a US attack on the under-construction Darkhovin nuclear facility. AWS's me-south-1 region has been offline for months, and the last Health Dashboard update was April 30. AWS waived March 2026 charges for its UAE region after earlier attacks.
