Apple is skipping the M6 Pro, Max, and Ultra versions to accelerate the M7 generation, which uses neural processing for AI performance. The M8 processor, codenamed Soko, is also in development. The shift prioritizes on-device AI over CPU and graphics, with top-tier M7 hardware expected by late 2027.
