EU AI Act Deepfake Labels Take Effect August 2

EU rules under the AI Act take effect August 2, requiring artificially generated images, audio, and text designed to look authentic to be visibly labeled and digitally watermarked. New AI systems must comply immediately; existing ones have four extra months. Noncompliance risks fines up to €15m or 3% of global turnover.
