Samsung is discussing an investment of up to €1 billion in French AI startup Mistral, potentially valuing the company at around €20 billion. Swedish investor EQT may also participate. The deal would mark Samsung's first direct investment in a foundation model lab outside of Google, as the company expands its AI and robotics ambitions.
