City Labs launched BOHR, the first commercial nuclear-powered satellite and first nuclear CubeSat, on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rideshare on July 7. The softball-sized craft uses a NanoTritium betavoltaic battery that generates nanowatts to microwatts from decaying tritium, lasting decades without sunlight. The FAA approved the launch under a 2020 national security memorandum.
