South Korea launches a $3.49 billion program to develop a frontier AI model starting as early as March 2027. The government will open a new competition for funding, replacing automatic support for current finalists led by LG AI Research, SK Telecom, and Upstage. Second Vice Minister Ryu Je-myung announced the changes on Friday.
