Kimi K3 matches frontier AI at lower cost

Moonshot AI released Kimi K3, a 2.8-trillion-parameter open-weight multimodal reasoning model. It matches or approaches Claude Fable 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol on benchmarks while costing up to 70% less. On agentic tasks, K3 was selected for 72-96% of tasks in oracle routing, and it leads AutomationBench at 53%.
