Anthropic AI Found Zcash Bug, Price Crashed 40%

Anthropic released Claude Opus 4.8 on May 28. Within 24 hours, a security researcher used it to find a four-year-old Zcash vulnerability that could allow unlimited counterfeit minting. Disclosure on June 5 caused a 40% price crash. Developers implemented an emergency fork to patch the bug.
