University of Ottawa researchers built UbiMyTherapist, an AI assistant that reads wearable signals from smartwatches, smartphones, and earbuds to detect emotional distress and offer support before the user asks. A 24-person study tested the system, which uses heart rate variability, speech tone, and text to build a personalized digital twin.
