OpenAI Releases 722 Math Manuscripts

OpenAI published 722 mathematical manuscripts from an internal model on October 5, 2026, organized into 372 families. The release solved 90 of the top 500 open math problems and about 4,000 research problems, using roughly three hours of ChatGPT Pro compute per result. Most outputs are unformalized; Lean formalizations are planned, and some results remain unverified.
