OpenAI and Anthropic Hit Record Lobbying Spend

OpenAI and Anthropic spent a combined $3.17 million on federal lobbying in the second quarter, up 23% from the first quarter and a record for both. Anthropic spent $1.97 million, more than Nvidia, while OpenAI spent $1.2 million. Spending among the Magnificent Seven was flat, and eight major defense contractors cut combined lobbying by over 3%.
