Microsoft eliminated 4,800 roles Monday, reducing global headcount by 2.1 percent, with heaviest cuts in Commercial Business and Xbox. Xbox chief Asha Sharma said the division is not healthy and will cut 3,200 people by fiscal 2027. Studios Compulsion Games, Double Fine Productions, Ninja Theory, and Undead Labs are being spun off.
