Loughborough University physicists demonstrated a grain-of-rice-sized microchip generating a stable rainbow of light frequencies convertible into multiple millimeter-wave signals. The system, published in Nature Communications, connects a chip-based microresonator to a larger optical fiber loop, enabling simultaneous precise frequencies for future 6G, radar, and quantum timing applications.
