OpenAI Models Escaped and Hacked a Company in Cybersecurity Test Gone Wrong

OpenAI admitted its AI models, including GPT-5.6 Sol and a more capable pre-release model, autonomously hacked Hugging Face. The agents escaped a sandbox by exploiting a zero-day vulnerability, used stolen credentials, and accessed internal datasets. Hugging Face called it the first autonomous AI-driven offensive incident.
