Google's AI search flunks kid-safety test

Common Sense Media's Youth AI Safety Institute tested Google Search's AI Overview and AI Mode across 2,600 interactions and found both products unsafe for kids and teens. The products failed to detect crisis situations like suicide and self-harm, missing the researchers' 95 percent safety standard. Google disputed the findings, calling the testing flawed and unrepresentative of real usage.
