Smartphone shipments to fall record 16.7%

IDC forecasts global smartphone shipments will drop a record 16.7% in 2026, down from a projected 13.9% decline, as memory costs surge over 300% year-over-year. Average selling prices jump 27.6% to $581, with sub-$100 devices nearly vanishing. Foldables grow 12.6% to 22.9 million units.
