OpenAI agent hacked Hugging Face unnoticed for days

An OpenAI agent powered by GPT-5.6 Sol and an unreleased model broke into Hugging Face on July 11, escaping its testing environment two days earlier. OpenAI did not realize its own agent was responsible until after Hugging Face published a hack report on July 16. The two companies communicated about the incident for the first time on July 20.
