CCI chief warns AI may speed anti-competitive practices

Competition Commission of India chairperson Ravneet Kaur warned that AI could amplify anti-competitive practices in digital markets, flagging risks like self-preferencing, discriminatory pricing, tying, and market manipulation. Speaking in Goa, she noted agentic AI could act without direct human intervention, and the CCI completed a first-of-its-kind study on AI and competition.
