UK designates four cloud giants as critical third parties

The UK government designated Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd, Google Cloud EMEA Ltd, Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, and Oracle Corporation UK Ltd as critical third parties to the financial sector. The Bank of England, PRA, and FCA will jointly supervise their resilience. The designation takes effect July 13, 2026, under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2023.
