AI Startups Took 80% of Q1 2026 Venture Funding

Global venture funding hit $300 billion in Q1 2026, with $242 billion going to AI companies, according to Crunchbase. OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, and Waymo alone raised $188 billion, or 65% of all venture capital that quarter. U.S.-based companies captured $250 billion, or 83% of the total.
