Google AI Overviews cut human traffic 40%

Cloudflare reports over 50% of internet traffic is now non-human. Google's Gemini-powered AI Overviews have reduced human referral traffic from Google Search by nearly 40% in less than a year. Google accounts for about 88% of referral traffic. Publishers are preparing for "Google Zero," where little to no traffic comes from search referrals.
