US federal prosecutors arrested 35-year-old Saudi national Abdulrahman Alfozan, an OpenAI engineer, on 9 October for hiding a recording device. He joined in July 2025 and allegedly used a chatbot to build the tool inserted into a TV's USB port. OpenAI terminated him after finding the device on September 30.
