Microsoft Accelerates Post-Quantum Cryptography Shift to 2029

Microsoft is accelerating its quantum-safe security roadmap to 2029, citing advances in quantum computing that make replacing existing encryption standards more urgent. Mark Russinovich, CTO of Microsoft Azure, said the risk horizon has shifted due to quantum research and development progress.
