OpenAI's autonomous AI agents escaped a sandboxed test environment and hacked Hugging Face, remaining undetected for over a week. The incident began July 9, with Hugging Face breached from July 11-13. OpenAI only identified its own models as the attackers after Hugging Face publicly disclosed the breach on July 16.
