Oracle workforce shrinks by about 21,000 employees amid AI adoption

Oracle reduced its global workforce by 21,000 employees, about 13% of staff, during the 2026 fiscal year ending May 31, 2026. The company disclosed in its annual regulatory filing that AI adoption and automation directly replaced numerous roles. The restructuring cost $1.84 billion in severance payments.
